The word crisis comes from a word that
means decision. The same Greek
word is often translated judgment.
The spiritual crisis is also a crisis of belief, which is
a turning point where you must make a decision.

You must decide what you believe about God. How you respond at this turning point will
determine whether you go on to be involved with God in something God-sized that only He
can do, or whether you will continue to go your own way and miss what God has purposed for
your life. This is not a one-time experience.
Spiritual crisis can also be described as a Crisis of Faith. Faith is confidence that what God has promised or
said will come to pass. Faith is not a
concept or even an idea; faith must be in a person. God
Himself walking in sight or in ones own knowledge or ability does not
require faith. Faith is believing that the
God who called us to do or accomplish something will be the one who provides for the
accomplishment. What you believe about
God will determine what you do and how you live.
Spiritual crisis occurs when God speaks and what he asks requires faith. The problem, or crisis, is our own
self-centeredness. We think we have to
accomplish the assignment on our own power and with our own available resources. We invariably think, I cant do
that or That is not possible.
Christians from all walks of life face crisis of belief or faith. Whether you are a pastor, church leader, deacon,
elder or Sunday school teacher; housewife, executive, or employee you will, from time to
time, lose sight or become discouraged, fearful and even depressed. The Family Counseling Center counselors believe in
the power of prayer, love and encouragement to help re-tool the individual so they can
reconnect with that faith. The counselors at
the Family Counseling Center have, themselves, been through their own crisis and can
empathize with clients. The Counseling Center
is a safe, non-judgmental, confidential place to come so you do not have to face your
crisis alone.
